Our new showroom - nearly there.....

Since the opening of our new flooring showroom in Govan we have had fun taking the shell of the building and creating a space which we feel represents the forward looking views of McKay Flooring. We have installed lots of roof lights to ensure that natural light helps us exhibit our products. Our products themselves are mostly natural - granite, wood and leather and lend themselves to a showroom setting. We have added wifi and also a terminal for customers to browse the internet and perhaps check out our Twitter, Facebook and website.
The final stages are underway - a wall exhibiting our eco-credentials. The wall is devoted to Storm Harvest - a new range of wood flooring that has been created from windblown trees felled locally (i.e. Glasgow's parks and green spaces). These trees would normally be put into landfill but have been given a new lease of 'life' by reusing them as wood flooring products.
The other section of our 'eco-wall' highlights McKay Flooring's commitment to cutting down on waste. We have showcased 3 ideas for utilising our offcuts into cool, contemporary 'patchwork' floors.
We realise that these are baby steps in becoming a more eco responsible company and will endeavour to roll out more initiatives in the next 12 months.
