Image by sneakymoose via FlickrThere is often a level of confusion over some hardwood flooring terminology. Some people confuse laminate flooring (not a natural product) with engineered flooring (which is a real wood veneer on a plywood base). We sell and install both laminated floors and also real wood flooring in both engineered and solid versions. Some of our customers refer to solid and engineered floorboards as being 'real wood'. If comparing products it's important to understand these differences. Other factors to consider are the grade of timber and also the thickness of solid wood and the wear layer of engineered flooring boards. McKay Flooring staff are fully trained in all these technical areas and are very happy to advise you.enquiries@mckayflooring.co.uk
